Camera gear is not important in many parts

You can find countless cameras, lenses, and other accessories available today. We spend a lots of time reviewing them with Photography Life, and it’s true that some are a lot better than others (or better fitted to a given job). But once you’ve tested enough of which, the real takeaway is that just about everything today is excellent. The differences have been minor, especially at certain price.

So, use the camera you have, and don’t look again. In almost every approach, today’s entry-level DSLRs are a lot better than the top-of-the-line film SLRs at any time were. Yet somehow those film photographers was able to capture beautiful, iconic photographs that still look fantastic today.

Much more important are usually your creative skills and familiarity with camera settings. Focus your effort on those, not on collecting camera equipment.
